Bouncing back after pregnancy

Oh it is great to be back on my rebounder! I have been looking forward to it for a very long time! Although I worked out through most of my pregnancy, I could not work out at the same intensity as I used to when I found out that I was pregnant in January. The last couple of months before my beautiful baby boy was born, I could not exercise at all and it really frustrated me. I got the all clear from my Gynaecologist a week ago and he suggested that I just take it easy at first and…

Post-partum recovery

This has definitely been one of the hardest things I have done in my life! Being a parent brings me so much joy but believe me when I say it has been hard and a huge adjustment, but definitely worth it. Our beautiful boy Stefan Snyman was born on the 30th of August via cesarian section. He is now 6 weeks old and we have finally settled in and have established a routine that works well for us. The first two weeks were rough but every day gets a little bit easier and we already can’t imagine life without our…

Why is exercise so important during pregnancy?

One of my first concerns when I found out that I was pregnant, was whether it was safe to continue exercising. Being a first time mom, I was very scared as I knew nothing about pregnancy and babies and did not want to hurt the little one that is developing inside me. Please remember to always first check with your doctor to ensure that it is safe for you to continue with your normal exercise regime. If you have exercised before getting pregnant, you should be able to continue as normal, should you have a normal pregnancy. Exercise during pregnancy…

Surviving your first trimester…

Soooo, yes, in my last blog I promised lots of new and exciting content coming and now it is almost the end of March and I still have not done anything! This year started with a bang…. it’s only March and so many things have happened. Our year started off with a really big but very nice surprise…I found out that I am pregnant on the 5th of January. What a start to 2022! Although our little bundle of joy was planned, it still came as a huge surprise as we did not think that I would get pregnant so…

Saying goodbye to 2021 …

Wow, can you believe that 2021 is over? Unbelievable. This year has gone by so fast. I haven’t written a blog in such a long time. So many things have changed this year. For starters, both me and my husband resigned from our jobs. It was time. Time to move on. Time to start over. Time for bigger and better things. We have been truly blessed this year. My husband started at a new company in July and I can now finally focus on rebounding full time. We also had to pack up our house in Potchefstroom and moved to…

Spring vs Bungee Rebounder

As I’m sure you know by now, rebounding is exercise that you do on a mini-trampoline. It is fun, and you will burn a lot of calories. There are so many benefits to rebounding, to see a list please click here. There are currently two different types of rebounders available and that is a spring and a bungee rebounder. Spring rebounder A spring rebounder is a rebounder where the mat is tied to the rim with steel springs. Spring rebounders tend to be more affordable and more widely available. This rebounder is great for travelling as it can fold up,…

How to start your rebounding journey…

Congratulations! You have decided that you would like to give rebounding a go and I promise you will not be disappointed. I would suggest that when you do start with this new form of exercise, that you start off with a few quick 5 minute sessions. Believe me – 5 minutes seem short – until you are on a rebounder. First try this 5 minute class a few times just so that your body can get used to this type of exercise. You can even do more than one session a day, let’s say in the morning and in the…

The pelvic floor muscle

The pelvic floor muscle is a very important muscle for both women and men. The pelvic floor muscle is made up from layers of muscle and other tissues and these layers of the muscle stretch from the tailbone at the back, to the pubic bone in front. The pelvic floor of a woman supports her bladder, uterus and colon. The reason why the pelvic floor muscle is so important, is that it may help urinary elimination, it may treat pelvic organ disablement and it may make sex better too. Basically everyone can benefit from pelvic floor exercises. A strong pelvic…

Why Is Sleep Good For You?

Oh I just love to sleep. There is nothing better for me than a good night’s rest. I feel good, I look good and everything is just great. With that being said, at the same time if I don’t have a good night’s rest I’m a horrible person to be with. I feel awful, I don’t look good, I’m irritated and the day is just a mess even though it just started. According to the dictionary, sleep is: “a condition of body and mind which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is inactive, the eyes…

What makes online training classes so great?

Despite everything that is going on around us at the moment where we are not allowed to attend group training classes, I thought I would give you some pro’s and con’s for working out online. In my personal opinion it is becoming more and more necessary for people to train from home at their own pace and on their own time. Most of us are working more than 8 hours a day and then have to sit in traffic for more or less another 2 hours traveling between work and home. This is making it very difficult for us to find time for…
